130115 ‘Strong Heart 2’ to Be Led By Shin Dong Yeop, Kim Hee Sun and Yoon Jong Shin
Turns out Strong Heart isn’t going away completely - but will be returning in a revamped format for a second season.
SBS announced the news along with the tentative title - Strong Heart – Those Who Govern Their Hearts. The new season will be led by Shin Dong Yeop, Yoon Jong Shin and actress Kim Hee Sun, the latter who will be a main MC for a variety show for the first time.
Shin Dong Yeop was said to be a must-have for the new season by SBS for his witty remarks and playful banter while Yoon Jong Shin was pursued for his reliability and the trust he has earned from other MCs and celebrities.
Kim Hee Sun was long considered for a variety show by SBS but it was only after her recent Healing Camp appearance that producers truly got a taste of her no-holds-barred, straight talk and humor which led to her being cast.
Unlike the first season’s focus on a large group of guests, the show will scale down for the second season and focus on inviting around 5-6 guests per episode.
The talk will focus on the everyday struggles, dilemmas and occurrences of individuals as the guests and MC discuss and empathize with each other in the talk show program.
The topics will shy away from the unique experiences of celebrities, more commonly seen in the previous season, and will instead focus on themes and subjects that are common and relatable to anyone.
The first episode of the new season will premiere sometime in mid-February.
