It was recently reported that Lee Byung Hun and Lee Min Jung”s couple home in Gwangju was put up for sale in the market, but this was revealed to be false by Lee Byung Hun”s side.

His agency, BH Entertainment, told X Sports News on September 24, “The report that Lee Byung Hun recently put up their couple home for sale in the market is groundless. He did not even go near real estate. It seems like the media outlet did not confirm anything.”

On September 24, according to media outlet “Woman Chosun,” the celebrity couple”s home in Gwangju appeared on the real estate offerings. A real estate rep had carefully disclosed, “I know that he quietly spoke with a close realtor. I don”t think it has to do with the recent incident, but I think he decided on this because he judged that the value of the house has fallen.”

The magazine had also released a phone interview conversation they personally had with Lee Byung Hun”s housemaid. Allegedly, she worked in their home since June, 2013 and was reported by “Woman Chosun” to have said, “Lee Min Jung likes cooking to the point she personally cooks the side dishes all the time, and she made the atmosphere in the house nice. If Lee Min Jung is not here, it feels lonesome inside the house.”

In addition, she said that even after the blackmailing scandal, a lot of fans came to the house, and that Lee Byung Hun was currently engaged in filming for a movie.

140924 Kim Hyun Joong”s admittance of physical injury to be turned over to prosecutors

Seems like Kim Hyun Joong is far to be having peace of mind as police revealed on September 23 that his one admittance of physical harm towards his ex-girlfriend will be submitted to the prosecution.

Going back, on September 2, Kim Hyun Joong admitted one out of four physical assault cases filed against him. Although, his ex-girlfriend has decided to drop the assault case on September 17, today, police has revealed that they are going further to send the case he acknowledged of doing to prosecution.

The chief official from Songpa Police Office stated that they are sending the official written statement of Kim Hyun Joong”s acknowledged crime to the prosecutors by next week and let them handle the rest of the case.

The police explained that the physical injury charge Kim Hyun Joong has acknowledged of committing needs a prosecutor”s final verdict although both parties have already reached agreement.

Therefore, the conclusion of this case will only be closed after the prosecutors” decision if they will take it to the court or not.

140919 Agencies Consider Suspending Ads With Lee Byung Hun and Han Hyo Joo

Although actor Lee Byung Hun was the victim in a blackmail attempt that he reported to police, the surrounding publicity resulting from the scandal has prompted a petition to remove him from TV ads. The petition also cites his BH Entertainment labelmate actress Han Hyo Joo, whose family is involved in a separate controversy.

Lee Byung Hun”s scandal began on Aug. 20 when he reported a blackmail attempt by two women, later identified as GLAM singer Dahee and model Lee Ji Yeon. The women asked for $5 million or they would release video footage of the married actor having an inappropriate conversation about sexual preferences.

Lee Ji Yeon”s attorney later claimed that the blackmail attempt was an emotional reaction to Lee Byung Hun wanting to break off their three-month relationship. He denied that he had a relationship with her and claimed that he only met the women because they knew a mutual friend. After a police search found the smartphone that the conversation was recorded on, both women were arrested and charged with blackmail.

The actor issued an apology for any responsibility he had in creating the scandal and causing his family pain. He married actress Lee Min Jung in a lavish celebrity wedding last year.

Despite his apology, the publicity is still having a negative effect on the actor”s career.

A few days after the arrest a petition with a reported 4,000 signatures was posted on the site Daum Agora. It stated that while the petitioners could choose not to see movies and dramas, which featured the actor, they could not avoid seeing him on television in advertisements. The petition requested that he be suspended from all advertising activities.

According to an article in 10Asia, some of the commercial production companies have responded to the petition by halting his ads. Others are still deciding what they will do.

Actress Han Hyo Joo was also cited in the same petition for an unrelated controversy. The only connection between her and the Lee Byung Hun scandal is that they are represented by the same agency and they co-starred in the film “Masquerade.” She has not personally been involvd in any scandal but her younger brother was accused of assaulting and bullying a soldier during his military service last year. Those signing the petitions said she should be responsible for her brother”s actions and be suspended from serving as an advertising spokesperson.

140919 ABC TV To Adapt 'You Who Came From The Stars'

It seems as if Hollywood is looking to cash in on the Hallyu. ABC has announced that they are planning to remake the hit k-drama “You Who Came From The Stars,” which stars Kim Soo Hyun and Jun Ji Hyun.

And it will be adapted for American TV by the writing team who created, among other hit shows, “Vampire Diaries.”

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Moon Bo Mi, the head of HB Entertainment, ABC requested a pilot episode.

“We”ve been prepared for the U.S. remake of the drama since February, and we”re thankful for getting this opportunity,” said Moon Bo Mi in a press release.

The contract for the drama is being negotiated with Sony Pictures Television.

The original k-drama told the story of an alien who falls for a Hallyu star. ABC describes the American version as an “epic supernatural love story about a world-famous pop star, Lark, and her anti-social neighbor, James, who happens to be from another planet.”

Like Kim Soo Hyun”s character Do Min Joon, James avoids getting involved in human relationships. During his time on earth he became disillusioned by human nature and his attempts to intervene often backfired. But he uses his super powers to save Lark when she is in danger and gets involved in her life. He falls in love with her, which creates a conflict when he gets the chance to return to his planet.

Elizabeth Craft and Sarah Fein, who worked on “The Vampire Diaries” and the Joss Whedon series “The Dollhouse,” will adapt the series. Moon and Park Ji Eun, the original k-drama creators, will serve as executive producers.

“You Who Came From The Stars” was not only a hit in Korea but was also very popular in China and several other countries, inspiring such trends as copying Jun Ji Hyun”s makeup and eating her favorite meal of beer and fried chicken. And Hollywood is paying closer attention to k-drama fandom.

The series is not the first k-drama or Korean variety show that is up for a remake this year. “Good Doctor,” which starred Joo Won, is being adapted for an American TV audience by CBS. Korean-American actor Daniel Dae Kim, who is also CEO of the production company 3AD, will be the series” executive producer.

Actress Yunjin Kim, who played Daniel Dae Kim”s wife on the series “Lost” and currently stars in “Mistresses,” will produce a remake of the k-drama “Nine: Nine Time Travels,” which starred Lee Jin Wook.

“Reply 1997″ is also up for a remake, as is the variety show “Grandpas Over Flowers.”

Hallyu actress Park Shin Hye made headlines for being seen visiting her friend Lee Eun Sung, the wife of controversial 90″s singer Seo Tai Ji.

On September 15, several reports were released stating that actress Park Shin Hye was seen visiting her friend Lee Eun Sung in a postnatal clinic.

Lee Eun Sung is the second wife of 90″s musician Seo Tai Ji, who was previously married to actress Lee Ji Ah. Following their divorce, Seo Tai Ji married Lee Eun Sung on June 2013, and they became parents on August 2014.

Due to the controversial nature of her friend”s marriage and pregnancy, Park Shin Hye was lauded for staying by her friend”s side regardless of the negative press surrounding her situation.

According to a representative from Park Shin Hye”s agency, “Park Shin Hye and Lee Eun Sung have been friends since Park Shin Hye acted in “Stairway To Heaven,” and Lee Eun Sung acted in “Sharps.” They became close friends because of their similar ages.”

A petition has been brought up on a portal site bulletin asking for the removal ofLee Byung-hun from advertisements. It is aimed at Lee Byung-hun“s advertisers and has now over 2,000 people signed on it.

The arrow points at Han Hyo-joo, who is in the same agency as Lee Byung-hun. There”s speculation that Han Hyo-joo“s family is involved with the cruel treatments in military which has been causing continuous issues lately. Just because they belong to the same management, this has become a petition to get the two of them thrown out.

Netizens actually stated that they want her off advertisements because she”s in the same management as Lee Byung-hun.

Meanwhile, the two women who threatened Lee Byung-hun of 5 billion won in return for a recorded video, have been arrested for attempted threat.

Song Ji Hyo will be spending more time in China during the next few months. She has accepted a role in the Chinese film “708090.” And she recently traveled to Shenzen to appear at a press conference for the film, along with her co-star Taiwanese actor Kenji Wu.

The film tells the story of young people who lived in Shenzen between the 1970s and the 1990s. Despite often overwhelming obstacles, the film”s young characters work hard to realize their dreams.

Song will play Duan Yu Rong, a hardworking young woman who must overcome many hardships to accomplish her goals. She”s determined, optimistic, loyal to her friends and good at solving problems so this helps her succeed.

Song was warmly received in China because she has there. Chinese audiences know her from her appearances on the popular variety show “Running Man” and her performance in the recent drama “Emergency Couple” with co-star Choi Jin Hyuk. The Chinese media were eager to talk to her when she arrived to promote her upcoming project.

According to her agency C-JeS Entertainment, her appearance was widely covered by the Chinese media.

“She received enthusiastic responses from the reporters at every event she attended with a bright smile on her face,” said the C-JeS representative.

At the press conference the actress admitted that she was attracted to the script of “708090” because of the unique view it provided.

“Through this movie I was able to experience and see the different charms of China”s past and present,” said Song. “I am very excited but also quite nervous to be being part of this film. Song is the latest in a series of k-drama and k-movie actors who have gone to China to work. Other Hallyu stars recently recruited by Chinese productions include Song Seung Hoon, Song Hye Kyo, Rain, Kim Tae Hee, Kim Bum, Jang Nara and Lee Da Hae. In most cases, the actors don”t need to speak the language as their voices are dubbed over.

Chinese production companies have recruited Korean actors in their films and dramas, as k-dramas are becoming increasingly popular among Chinese audiences.

140918 Lee Min Jung Returns To Her Parents' Home

On Sept. 16, actress Lee Min Jung returned from her two-week trip to Paris, with plans to attend a friend”s wedding and shoot a television commercial. But after shooting her commercial, she did not return to the home of her husband, actor Lee Byung Hun, said a report in the Korea Herald. Instead she returned to her parents” Gangnam home.

An unnamed source told the Korea Herald that the actress was hurt by the recent scandal involving her husband and wanted to stay out of the public eye.

The 32-year-old actress was absent when her husband reported a blackmail attempt to the police on Aug. 28. He said that two women were attempting to blackmail him over a conversation that they recorded on a smartphone. The women were later identified as actress and GLAM member Dahee, 20, and model Lee Ji Yeon, 25. The women allegedly asked for $5 million to withhold the footage, which reportedly involved a conversation in which the 44-year-old actor asked them about their sexual preferences.

The two women were arrested a few days later and charged with attempted blackmail.

Lee Ji Yeon”s defense team described the blackmail attempt as her emotional reaction to the break-up of a three-month long affair between the model and Lee Byung Hun. The actor denied that there was any romantic relationship between them. He said that he only knew the young women through a mutual friend and that he had tried to distance himself from them when he knew they were having financial difficulties.

Although he denied cheating on his wife, Lee Byung Hun made a public apology for having acted in any way that might draw suspicion to him.

However, netizens unearthed some Instagram photos that supposedly belonged to the model and allegedly contained gifts given to her by the actor. One featured a bottle of wine from a South American winery he visited. Another featured a cell phone from an advertisement he had done.

Lee Min Jung has made no public announcement about the blackmail incident or the alleged affair. She did post a photo on Instagram recently, which was cryptically captioned “God Only Knows.”

The couple married last year in a star-studded wedding that was described as the “wedding of the year.” Over 900 guests attended the romantic wedding of the two actors described as Korea”s power couple.

Lee Byung Hun has lately acquired international celebrity status with his appearances in two Hollywood films, “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” and “Red 2.”

In other news, the Lee Byung Hun scandal continues, as model Lee Ji Yeon, who blackmailed Lee Byung Hun with a video containing audio evidence of her sexual conversation with the A-list actor, claims that she only did so out of anger after Lee Byung Hun had ended their 3-month relationship in August.

Lee Byung Hun has denied these claims, stating that he only had dinner with Lee Ji Yeon once back in June, when a friend of his introduced the two. Lee Byung Hun”s side has also suggested that Lee Ji Yeon is making up these “absurd” lies in order to reduce her impending punishment.

140912 2014 Korean Drama Awards Nominees Announced, Kim Soo Hyun, Jun Ji Hyun, and Lee Min Ho for Grand Award

Popular actors Kim Soo Hyun, Jun Ji Hyun, and Lee Min Ho will be up against each other for the “Best Actor Award” at the upcoming 2014 Korea Drama Awards.

In its seven years, the Korean Drama Awards considers dramas from all three major broadcasting networks KBS, SBS, and MBC, along with cable dramas.

In the Best Actor category, Kim Soo Hyun and Jun Ji Hyun were both nominated for their work in “My Love from the Star,” while Lee Min Ho was nominated for “The Heirs.” Ha Ji Won was nominated for “Empress Ki” and Jo Jae Hyunwas nominated for “Jeong Do Jeon.”

In the Best Drama category, “King’s Family,” “Empress Ki,” “My Love from the Star,” “Jeongdojeon,” and “Secret Love Affair” were nominated.

The 2014 Korean Drama Awards will take place on October 1.

140910 Clara and ZE:A’s Dongjun to Run in Torch Relay for the Incheon Asian Games

Entertainer Clara and Dongjun from the boy group ZE:A have been chosen to carry the torch in the upcoming Incheon Asian Games.

They were chosen by Swiss watch brand Tissot to represent the brand in the carrying of the torch during the games. The watch branded announced on September 10: “We have chosen Clara and Dongjun to represent our brand in the Games. Clara is well-loved for her bright and athletic image, while Dongjun has been getting more popular as a ‘sport-dol’ with his athleticism.”

Clara and Dongjun are both quite the athletes, as Clara has a black belt in taekwondo and Dongjun did gymnastics and played soccer in high school.

Clara will run with the torch for 200m on September 18, and Dongjun will carry the torch for approximately 277m on September 19, the day of the Opening Ceremony

140912 SBS’ Variety Shows Including “Running Man” and “Healing Camp” to Team Up with 2014 Incheon Asian Games for Special Program

Broadcasting company SBS will be teaming up with the 2014 Incheon Asian Games for special coverage and entertaining content about the large-scale sports event.

The news was revealed on September 12 at the 2014 Incheon Asian Games press conference, held at the SBS building located in Mokdong, Seoul.

Kim Yoo Suk, who is in charge of SBS’ coverage on the Incheon Asian Games, revealed, “We are planning to produce a special program with ‘Running Man,’ ‘Star King‘ and the sports commentators of the Asian Games.”

“For ‘Healing Camp,’ we will invite athletes to talk about their emotional moments [during the Asian Games] and to share their behind-the-scenes stories with the viewers at home,” he continued. In the past, “Healing Camp” has aired special episodes featuring the stars of the 2012 London Olympics and the 2014 Sochi Winter Olympics.

“We will produce ‘Morning Wide‘ and ‘News‘ on spot to deliver news about the competition. Announcers Kim Il Joong, Kim Hwan, and Jang Yae Won will play important roles,” the representative concluded.

The 2014 Incheon Asian Games will take place from September 19 to October 4.
