Hallyu star Park Shin Hye kicked off her “2014 Story of Angel Tour,” starting with two fan events in Japan.

According to her management, Park Shin Hye”s fans from Osaka and Tokyo were given the chance to meet with their favorite actress through fan events on July 19 and 20.

The program started off with Park Shin Hye showing her singing ability by performing several original sound tracks from her dramas, including a remake of Standing Egg”s “Break Up For You, Not Yet For Me.”

Also present at the event is her brother Park Shin Won, who played guitar for her as she sang the songs “Pitch Black” and “Arm Pillow,” as well as Park Shin Won”s original composition “My Dear.”

During the second half of the program, the actress showed her skill in the kitchen by making fresh mango juice. She also became closer to the fans as she talked about her character Cha Eun Sang from the hit drama “The Heirs,” and held a Cha Eun Sang impersonation game.

In addition, her fans went wild when the actress came out wearing a Jeguk High School uniform, making her fans reminisce about their beloved drama.

Park Shin Hye plans on visiting her fans in Shanghai, Chongqing, Beijing, and Changsha, as well as Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, and other Asian countries in the future.

140723 Lee Wan reveals his sister Kim Tae Hee and her boyfriend Rain still address each other formally

On the July 22 installment of KBS 2TV“s “Our Neighborhood Arts and Physical Education,” Kim Tae Hee”s younger brother Lee Wan appeared on the show and talked about his sister”s relationship with world star, Rain.

Kang Ho Dong and Jung Hyung Don asked him, “What does your older sister call Rain?” At first, Lee Wan played dumb, but this didn”t work, so he said in the end, “They”re still awkward, so they address each other formally.” For example, they would attach the form “-ssi” to the end of their names, which almost stands in as “Mr.” and “Ms.”

Still, it was revealed that the two were recently baptized in front of friends and family, so they can”t be too awkward! Meanwhile, they denied that this meant they were planning to get married anytime soon.

140723 Hallyu stars featured in Chinese movies

Hallyu stars are making it big in the Chinese film and drama industry.

For the past few years, Hallyu stars have been appearing in Chinese dramas, but it”s been a common thing for them to appear in movies as well.

Drama casting is an important factor as it has everything to do with viewing percentage, but in films, ticket sales affect the success of the movie.

Like Hollywood cast Lee Byung-hun and Rain to target the Asian market, it seems like China shares a common purpose for doing the same.

The show biz calls this the “win-win strategy”.

- Song Hye-kyo, Son Tae-yeong, Lim Soo-hyang, Choi Si-won, Park Si-hooand others

Song Hye-kyo is the most active Hallyu star in Chinese movies.

She stepped into the international world by starring in “The Grand Master” with Zhang Zi Yi, a film that was introduced at the Berlin International Film Festival last year. Song Hye-kyo“s name was mentioned while introducing the cast at the event while she was with three other Chinese actors and actresses.

Song Hye-kyo then continued onto the movie “The Crossing” with Zhang Chen and Zhang Zi Yi. She attended The Cannes International Film Festival with them. This movie will be released in China this winter.

Being chosen by worldwide directors like Leung Chiu Wei and John Woo, Song Hye-kyo is currently targeting the Chinese and International markets and will be filming her third Chinese movie soon.

Unlike the fact that her first two Chinese movies were stories in the past, Song Hye-kyo“s third Chinese movie based in a best seller called “I Am Queen”, is a modern play.

Son Tae-yeong and Lim Soo-hyang also have been chosen as leading roles in Chinese movies.

Son Tae-yeong has completed filming the Chinese movie “Justice War” which will be released at the end of the year. She was also invited to the Shanghai International Film Festival last year.

Lim Soo-hyang stars in “Love Of Sea”, a Chinese fantasy movie and will be attending the preview conference being held in China this month.

Amongst Chinese stars, kwon Sang-woo starred in Jackie Chan”s movie “The Chinese Zodiacs”. Others are Super Junior”s Choi Si-won, Ji Jin-hee, Park Si-hoo and others. Choi Si-won is appearing in “Wind” and Ji Jin-hee in “Two Cities”. Park Si-hoo is looking forward to the release of “Scent”.

- Hallyu stars bring synergy…China is going to Hollywood

Like Hollywood plans on casting influential Hallyu stars to bring up profits in the Asian Market, China is also doing the same. They are looking at expansion of market.

There”s one more reason to be looked at. The plan is to make Chinese movies seem better with Hallyu stars in them.

Kim Hyo-jin from Son Tae-yeong“s agency claims, “Movie makers think their movies have quality when Hallyu stars make an appearance”.

“As Hallyu rises everything from fashion to make-up and lifestyle is being put in the spotlight. With Korean actresses in their movies, China thinks there”s an improvement in the movie”s overall style.

This is why China seeks for Korean stars as their supporting or main roles.

Kim Hyo-jin continued, “Chinese movies are dubbed anyway, so there”s no difficulty in the language”.

Lim Soo-hyang“s agency director Kim Gwan-min said, “There”s a lot of attention brought to Korean stars in China. The reason Lim Soo-hyang was cast for a Chinese movie is because they expect a synergy affect in this Hallyu boom”.

There are also two reasons why Korean stars appear in Chinese movies. The pay is higher in China than it is in Korea and they know that they Chinese Market will soon lead to the international market.

A manager said, “They get paid about twice as much. That”s why many prefer to star in Chinese movies”.

However, it”s not always for the money. Top stars look further ahead.

One particular star said, “Hollywood has been eyeing Chinese stars even before casting Hallyu stars. That”s because the Chinese market is big and so is the Chinese population all over the world”.

That means China has a lot of market to cover. Through Chinese movies, not only can Korean stars become bigger in China, but internationally, into Hollywood.

140720 Fashionista: Jeon Ji-hyeon in “My Love From the Star”

There is a growing number of people today who watch Korea-made soap operas and listen to Korean hip hop and dance music. This recent uptick in media consumption has brought increased attention to elements of the nation”s mass media and content industry.

One of this year”s most-watched soap operas, SBS”s “My Love from the Star“, is the prime example of this, having launched various “cultural fads” across a variety of industries. For example, the combination of fried chicken and beer that actress Jeon Ji-hyeon, in the role of the main heroine, was shown eating in the show has aroused what”s now called a “Chimaek Fever” in some parts of China, named for the Korean words for “fried chicken” and “beer”. Also, filming locations across Korea that were visited by the main characters during the show, — the Petite France theme park in Gapyeong, the N Seoul Tower in central Seoul, and more — are still seeing an endless flow of tourists.

Visitors” interest, however, is not limited to food and travel. The clothing and accessories worn by the characters on-screen has taken fans by storm, too.

Starting with the very first episode, Jeon Ji-hyeon has been putting on a splendid show. Her balanced style, with a modern, tailored jacket and a wide belt, gave her a slender look. She matched it with a knee-length skirt and thigh-high boots, perfectly mixing both the feminine and the chic.

A crisp white shirt, an indispensable staple in most closets, can help achieve this look. It is recommended to choose a pencil skirt, one that is light-colored and either knee-length or with a lace trim. It”s good to avoid skirts that are either too complicated or too simple in design. Instead, a jacket with a strong pattern is key to this look. The strong pattern itself is enough, and is encouraged to be worn with simple shoes and a simple handbag.

Following both modern and classic cues, Jeon Ji-hyeon achieved a casual look with her flare skirts. The short flared skirt, cut above the knee, adds to the look. The neoprene material creates more wrinkles, helping it look more voluminous.

For those who would want to try this style, it looks better with a sweat shirt that comes below the waist line. It goes well with sneakers rather than high heels. It”s recommended to match the shoes with the socks, and to use laces and a cute design. Finally, complete the style with sunglasses in pop colors or else a small tote bag.

Along with clothing, the different hair accessories that Jeon Ji-hyeon wore in each episode have also come under the limelight. A thick hair band was key to her simple, straight hair style, while a leather ribbon matched her baggy T-shirts, completing her tom boy look. In another episode, she showed a stylish hairdo, worn up with a sliver band, highlighting her femininity.

Finally, colorful hairpins created a natural, yet unique, look. With her bangs pinned back with a hair clip, she gave off an effortless air, but it still gave her a vibe that was bright and stylish.

140716 Lee Young Ae Presses Charges Against Reporter Who Spread Rumors

Lee Young Ae is pressing charges against a reporter for the spreading of false rumors.

According to sources from the prosecution on July 16, a reporter from internet news site “M” has been charged for spreading rumors last year on July 25 about actress Lee Young Ae’s husband Jung Ho Young.

The reporter, Mr. Han, claimed that Lee Young Ae and actress Han Chae Youngwere mother and daughter-in-law, and that Jung Ho Young hid his identity while dating actress Shim Eun Ha, among other things. However, these statements were subsequently determined false.

Outside of this case, Lee Young Ae has previously filed complaints to the police about the spreading of false rumors.

140716 When are Bae Yong-joon, Won Bin and Lee Young-ae coming back?

When can we see them?

Several writers and directors have been sending their calls of love but the actors remain silent. Top stars who are highly wanted have been gone for far too long. Lee Young-ae is one of them. They have been gone for a maximum of 9 years, enough for a mountain to change its form. They are on the top of the list but they are hard to see and now it”s becoming frustrating.

Their fans are starting to become tired of waiting now. Bae Yong-joon, the leader of Hallyu since the 2002 KBS 2TV drama “Winter Sonata“, has been gone for 7 years since the MBC drama “The Legend”. He made a cameo appearance in the KBS 2TV drama “Dream High” which was directed by his company.

Seven years ago was when Bae Yong-joon“s popularity was at its highest peak. Fans wanted to see him as an actor, not just a Hallyu star. However, he”s been refusing everything since “The Legend”. He”s been very careful about what he chooses next but it”s been far too long.

Bae Yong-joon has lost timing to choose the right one. The second generation of Hallyu stars have succeeded in taking over domestic and international markets. Lee Byung-hun who used to be along the same lines as Bae Yong-joon, is now in the highest position as an actor and has been doing very well. What if Bae Yong-joonhad been more active during his high time? His filmography would have been a lot more interesting then.

Won Bin is another disappointing case. He starred in the 2010 movie “The Man From Nowhere” and it”s been about 5 years since then, and he hasn”t shown any signs of coming back anytime soon. Everyone anticipated his next comeback, since “The Man From Nowhere” made him a top actor, creating a success of 6.2 million viewers.

He”s been rejecting any other scenarios that have been coming in. SBS drama “That Winter, the Wind Blows” starring Song Hye-kyo and Jo In-Seong was initially meant for him. Jo In-Seong managed to make the perfect comeback with it after his National Service. It”s a pity for Won Bin.

Lee Young-ae hasn”t been coming up with anything either. She”s content with being just a commercial model for now. She”s been on hiatus for about 9 years ever since the 2005 movie “Sympathy for Lady Vengeance“. Recently, there was word that she was starring in “Dae Jang Geum 2” but that didn”t go as planned. The drama itself is currently on hold because of her. Many are disappointed at this result.

However, it”s not like they”re never returning. Bae Yong-joon and Won Bin are still looking over scripts. It”s just taking time. They are being careful to choose something fans would like. Lee Young-ae who has been paying attention to child care and her married life, has been showing some kind of movement since 2 years ago.

Although it can be exhausting to wait for these top stars to make a comeback, we can”t say we aren”t anticipating it.
