A teaser video for the upcoming SBS drama “Temptation” has been revealed through SBS’ official Youtube channel.

“Temptation” garnered a lot of attention for its two lead actors Choi Ji Woo and Kwon Sang Woo, as they will reunite after 11 years since their extremely popular drama “Stairway to Heaven“. They will star in “Temptation” alongside Park Ha Sun and Lee Jung Jin.


The teaser video shows brief glimpses of the four main characters, as a voice-over compares love to a sand castle. At the end of the video, the female narrator ominously adds, “The love you built up, I wanted to test how weak that sand castle was. I wanted to become a wave to you people.”

“Temptation” is a melodrama about a married man who ends up selling himself to a woman in order to pay his debts. It will premier on July 14 after the completion of currently airing SBS drama “Doctor Stranger“.

140623 Jun Ji Hyun and Kim Soo Hyun Request for Termination of Their Contracts with Chinese Water Company after Controversy

Jun Ji Hyun and Kim Soo Hyun, the stars of the hugely popular drama “Man from the Stars,” were recently caught in controversy concerning their recent endorsement with Hongda Group’s mineral water company Hongda Bingchuan (恒大氷泉).

The issue centers around the fact that the source of the water was named as Changbai Mountain. Changbai is the Chinese name for Baekdu Mountain, a mountain between the border of North Korea and China. This arose as a problem, as many think of this as stemming from China’s Northeast Project, which is an academic project that claims and aims to prove that historical Korean kingdoms were part of and under the control of China. The issue is a political one, and many are raising their voices in favor of the opinion that the choice of naming the mountain Changbai instead of Baekdu is an attempt to express the area around the mountain as under Chinese influence. Moreover, there is the opinion that Kim Soo Hyun and Jun Ji Hyun are being used as tools in China’s Northeast Project.

After their respective agencies made public apologies for neglecting to check the name of the water source, Jun Ji Hyun and Kim Soo Hyun requested to the company that their contracts be terminated, with full understanding that cancellation of the contract will result in fees of potentially several hundred million won.

This isn’t the first time there has been an issue with the naming of Baekdu Mountain. Netizens previously criticized the company Nongshim for labeling the source of water on the water distributed in China as Changbai Mountain, as well.

Baekdu Mountain was in fact called Changbai (JangBaek) Mountain for a long time, by both China and Korea. The so-called equation of Changbai (JangBaek) equals Northeast Project equals traitor came about in 2005, when China’s half of Baekdu Mountain, previously managed by the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, moved under the maintenance of the Jilin Provincial Government. Previously, Baekdu Mountain, as a result of the 1962 Sino-Korean border treaty, was split in half between China and North Korea.

On June 23rd, it was reported that Song Jihyo was set to be a free agent and looking to sign with another agency. However, C-Jes Entertainment immediately released a statement proving the reports as false.

According to C-Jes Entertainment, the reports regarding Song Jihyo’s departure were false and unfounded, further revealing that their exclusive management to Jihyo’s career was not bound through a contract, but by trust and verbal agreement. It was also added that the unverified work caused direct conflict and confusion with their current and pending advertising transactions. The statement was released to clear this confusion.

Meanwhile, it was also revealed that Song Jihyo is preparing for the possible sequel of “Emergency Couple.”

A KBS variety show rep told Star News in an exclusive on the 24th, “”I”m A Man”, which aired as a pilot program in April, will air as a regular program starting early August… “I”m A Man”, which has been confirmed for a regular time slot, will begin filming mid-July and officially prepare for broadcast… Yoo Jae Suk and the other MCs for the pilot program including Noh Hong Chul and Lim Won Hee will also be a part of it this time.”

The pilot episode of “I”m A Man”, a talk show centered around guy talk, aired on April 9 and received attention for being Yoo Jae Suk”s first new show in four years. With special appearances by miss A”s Suzy and more, “I”m A Man” previously got off to a great start and fans will be getting to see even more guests when it premieres this August.

140621 “Running Man” to Compete with Idol Teams

The main cast of “Running Man” will intensify their colors, fashion, and even means of transportation as they go head to head with a team of idols for the next episode of “Running Man.”

On the upcoming June 22 episode of “Running Man,” the rival idol team will be made up of SHINee‘s Minho, Infinite‘s Sunggyu and Hoya, 2PM‘s Chansung,CNBLUE‘s Minhyuk, B1A4‘s Jinyoung, and Sistar‘s Bora. They will be “Urban Idols” and compete with the main cast’s “Rural Idols” team.

The two teams will take their titles serious, and represent the city or the countryside in all their styles and antics. Even for their transportation, the “Urban Idols” will have a sleek ride while “Rural Idols” will have to travel in a tractor.

Along with the signature “Running Man” race, the two “idol” teams will compete in a dance battle and show their official idol greetings.

Kim Hyunjoong‘s comeback in Japan was a success.
On June 17th, he had a special fan meeting in Osaka, Tokyo and Nagoya where he met approximately 20, 000 fans.
On the next day, he released his 4th Japanese single ‘Hot Sun.’ Immediately after its release, ‘Hot Sun’ landed first on ‘Oricon Daily Chart‘ and TV show ‘Music Station.’

140622 Idols Get Down and Dirty in Fierce Competition on “Running Man”

It’s finally here! The ”Running Man“ episode featuring SHINee‘s Minho, 2PM‘sChansung, CNBLUE’s Kang Min Hyuk, B1A4‘s Jinyoung, Infinite‘s Hoyaand Sunggyu, and SISTAR‘s Bora aired today, June 22, on SBS.

It was the idol team versus the “‘Running Man” team this week, battling it out on the fields. The idol team was named the “City Idols” while the Running Man team was named the “Farm Idols.” Each team member named the person on the other team whom they will be in charge of, matched at their level of skill and ability, or because of any other silly reason. Chansung was matched with Ji Suk Jin because of his big nose. Haha was matched to Sunggyu, Gary was matched with Jinyoung, Hoya was matched with Kim Jong Kook, and Yoo Jae Suk matched himself to Minho, claiming that Minho is similar to when Yoo Jae Suk was young- not looks but competitive spirit. Kang Min Hyuk was almost paired to Lee Kwang Soo, but Yoo Jae Suk denied that, saying there was no one who can match to such a low level as Lee Kwang Soo.

From relay races and Gossaum Nori in muddy fields, to carry fields, finding ginseng and catching loach, everyone had to literally get down and dirty to win the games in this week’s “Running Man.”
