131028 Classic romance gets remake

Actress Sin Min-ah of the SBS drama “My Girlfriend is a Gumiho” and actor Jo Jeong-seok of the KBS drama “Lee Soon-sin is the Best” are being considered as leads for a remake of the 1990 movie “My Love, My Bride”.

The original film, which starred the late actress Choi Jin-sil and actor Park Joong-hoon, when both were extremely popular, is about a couple struggling to make their marriage work and understand what love really is.

Sin, who recently completed filming for a movie tentatively named “Gyeongju”, has been looking for her next project.

Her agency confirmed she received the offer to play the role, but she is still browsing other options as well, according to local media reports.

Jo’s agency also declined to comment on whether the actor had decided to join the remake as he is currently filming another movie, “The King’s Wrath“.

It said that Jo is interested in revisiting Park’s iconic role and will decide as early as early next month.

131029 Song Hye-kyo and Seo Kyeong-deok donate Korean guidebooks

Actress Song Hye-kyo and Korean Promotional Expert and professor Seo Kyeong-deok from Sungshin University donated Korean guidebooks to the Chinese Ahn Joong-geun Memorial.

Seo Kyeong-deok said, “We donated 10,000 copies of the newly designed guidebook in celebration of the movement by Ahn Joong-geun”.

These guidebooks were based on information supported by the memorial hall and contains, in color, the life story and chronology of Ahn Joong-geun, commemorations by Chinese leaders and various pictures. Voice support will also be added for the blind.

Song Hye-kyo said, “It’s quite inconvenient without Korean guidebooks although it’s in China. I hope this small act helps to maintain foreign visitors”.

Song Hye-kyo and professor Seo have been donating Korean services to the New York Modern Art Museum and the Boston Art Museum. They are currently working on donating Korean services to the Tate Modern and the Van Gogh Gallery in the Netherlands.

Actress Yoo In Na has been confirmed to take part in an upcoming SBS drama titled ‘Man From the Stars’.

According to her agency YG Entertainment, Yoo In Na has been cast for the role of actress Yoo Se Mi, who has grown up together with top star Chun Song Yi (Jeon Ji Hyun) in the upcoming time-traveling drama ‘Man From the Stars’.

Written by Park Jieun from ‘My Husband Got a Family’ and directed by Jang Tae Yoo of ‘Deep Rooted Tree’, ‘Man From the Stars’ will portray an interesting story of an alien man from 400 years ago and romance with a top star actress.

131022 Park Shin Hye, Go Soo and Han Suk Gyu Favorably Reviewing Historical Fiction Movie About Making Clothes

Go Soo, Han Suk Gyu and Park Shin Hye may be uniting for a historical fiction film that is being dubbed as “the second Masquerade.”

According to film industry sources on October 22, Go Soo, Han Suk Gyu and Park Shin Hye are positively reviewing the upcoming film, “Sang Eui Won,” which translates to “royal tailor.” The film is set in the Joseon-era and is about the royal tailors of the King’s court.

The film will be directed by Lee Won Suk, whose past works include “How to Use Guys with Secret Tips” and will be produced by the company behind, “The Chaser,” and “A Werewolf Boy.”

Go Soo’s potential role is a genius tailor with a free-spirit, who impresses the king and queen with his clothes-making skills. Han Suk Gyu plays the veteran tailor who served with his skills since the reign of the last king but feels threatened by Go Soo’s genius and carefree character. Park Shin Hye plays the role of the queen, who is saddened by the king’s coldness and often feels alone.

Go Soo, who has transformed his acting image by playing a villainous role on SBS’ “Empire of Gold,” is said to have immediately fallen for the scenario for this film.

Han Suk Gyu, who has seen success with two films this year, “Berlin,” and “Paparoti,” is said to be impressed with the Mozart and Salieri-like nature of the story.

Park Shin Hye, who is currently enjoying the popularity of the SBS drama, “The Heirs,” has seen success in the film industry as well through “Miracle in Cell No. 7,” and is looking to take on a new challenge.

MBC‘s upcoming drama “Empress Ki” is vamping up its promotions with new releases of posters and stills.

Two solo posters of Ha Ji Won and and one poster of the three leads have been revealed.

Ha Ji Won’s solo posters show her icy and elegant charisma in her colorful traditional attire. Reports say that she had a lot of trouble with her flowing robes of traditional wear but she pulled through like the professional that she is, earning her high praise from the staff.

The poster with the three leads, Ha Ji Won, Ji Chang Wook and Joo Jin Mo, continue to show the flashy and colorful fashion of the Goryeo period as it predicts an intense love triangle among the characters.

Finally, stills of Ha Ji Won and Joo Jin Mo on a lovely moonlight date were revealed.

The two actors are walking through a festival with smiles on their faces while holding lanterns. One particular cut shows Ha Ji Won making a wish underneath a lantern while Joo Jin Mo fondly looks at her.

It looks like a new historical movie is shaping up to be a hot ticket that many of Korea’s top actors want to be part of.

The tentatively-titled “Fashion House” is the story of the people who made clothes for the king and other important aristocrats during the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910).

Some of the names that have been linked to it so far include Ko Soo of the SBS drama “Golden Empire”, actress Park Sin-hye of the SBS drama “The Heirs” and veteran actor Han Seok-Kyu, who was most famous for “Shiri“.

Ko will reportedly play a talented tailor who wishes to make garments for the queen. Han will play a rival tailor who has long-served the royal family but grows threatened by Ko’s character and responds in dramatic fashion.

Park will play the queen. This is her first movie since the hit “Miracle in Cell No.7” last year.

Helping spur interest in “Fashion House” is the success of films set in olden times these days – “The Face Reader” has made 66 billion won ($62.3 million), and last year’s “Masquerade” pulled in 88.9 billion won.

Jung Yong hwa and Yoon Eun Hye were filmed enjoying a quiet blanket date.

On the October 21 episode of KBS2TV’s “Future Choice,” Jung Yong Hwa ‘s and Yoon Eun Hye’s characters were shown having a secret date in an empty office.

The episode showed the two characters warmly sitting next to each other under the same blanket, sharing a conversation.

The October 11 filming of Jung Yong Hwa’s and Yoon Eun Hye’s blanket date was due to a mistake made by Yoon Eun Hye’s character, Mi rae, that caused both Se Ju(Jung Yong Hwa) and Mirae to become drenched. The intimate scene between the two actors portrayed the developing feelings between the two in the drama, causing many viewers to wonder about Mi Rae’s future choice.

However, the behind the scene action portrayed a different story as the professionalism of the two actors was not unnoticed throughout the difficult conditions. 131005 Yoon Eun Hye is Torn Between Two Lovers in Upcoming Drama, Poster Released!

Actress Yoon Eun Hye is surely being envied by fan girls as her role in upcoming drama has her in a dilemma on which man suits her best. Is it gonna be the rich type man like Lee Dong Gun or the boy next door rocker CNBLUE’s Yonghwa?

The recently released poster of the most awaited Korean love drama ‘The Future Choice’ or ‘Marry Him If You Dare’, Yoon Eun Hye really justify that she deserves the luck of having two handsome men fighting to win over her heart. How romantic, isn’t it?

Yoon Eun Hye’s character is a girl who must choose between the love of her life who is announcer Kim Shin played by actor Lee Dong Gun or the man that she must learn to love which is Park Sae Ju played by CNBLUE leader Yonghwa, the rich grandson of the broadcast station’s CEO.

One of the representatives of the show commented, “Yoon Eun Hye-Lee Dong Gun-Yonghwa perfected an exciting love triangle by acting out their characters’ delicate emotions. Please look forward to the actors portraying the title concept perfectly.”

131008 Park Shin Hye and Kim Woo Bin for "The Heirs": "I Wish I Can Afford that Motorcycle" Edition

When we get so many promotional stills for the upcoming SBS drama “The Heirs,” it’s fun to just joke around with the captions.

It seemed like it was weeks away but “The Heirs” is finally airing this week starting October 9. Before it starts, though, why not just more promotions, or so thinks SBS.

This time we have two sets of stills: one of heroine Park Shin Hye and another of second male lead Kim Woo Bin. In Park Shin Hye’s stills, the images show her in the role of Cha Eun Sang, who has to work multiple and various part-time jobs due to her family’s poverty. She has jobs at a pizza store, cafe, and as a dishwasher. In Kim Woo Bin’s set, he is shown as Choi Young Do, heir to a resort, and thus has lots of money to spend on a nice motorcycle.

Do these two meet by coincidence at the motorcycle shop? The stills hint at that fateful meeting.

131007 Hit or Miss: Clara's Look at the BIFF Asian Film Night

On October 6, actress Clara posed for photographers at the “Busan International Film Festival Asian Film Night” which was held at the Westin Joseon Hotel, Busan. Clara had arrived last week to walk the red and blue carpet at the 18th Busan International Film Festival which runs from October 3 to October 12, and had showed off stunning looks in floor-length gowns. 

In a day and night contrast to her elegant looks, Clara arrived at this event in a figure-hugging, white, lace mini dress. The slim actress accessorized her look with a heavy chain accent necklace and sparkly, platform oxfords. Unfortunately, though she seems to have been going for something fun, Clara’s look is a mix of mismatched, disparate elements.
