130403 Song Seung Hun and Park Min Young to Become Siblings in Japanese Version of “Dr. Jin”

The Japanese version of Dr. Jin will undergo a major change, as Song Seung Hun and Park Min Young′s roles will become siblings instead of lovers.

According to the official website of Japan′s hallyu channel DATV, Dr. Jin will start airing on May 25. It will run for the same number of episodes, 22, but the site also indicates some changes given to character relationships.

The webpage introduces Jin Hyuk (Song Seung Hun) and Young Rae (Park Min Young) as siblings, not as lovers.

About Young Rae, it says, “Jin Hyuk′s little sister, who works in the same hospital as him.”

A drama official told enews about the change, “The relations were changed in the process of taking the drama to Japan. We made the decision in order to play up the drama of jumping through time. We expect the change in relationship will help the drama describe with more detail the emotions attached to the event.”

The official added, “The setting of the past is the same. It′s just that Song Seung Hun and Park Min Young will become siblings, not lovers, in the present. The love scenes between the two in the present will be deleted, and instead we included more newly filmed scenes with the child actors as well as more narration from Song Seung Hun.”

Dr. Jin has been gathering much interest as it is based on a Japanese original, and its main stars Song Seung Hun and JYJ′s Kim Jae Joong both enjoy great popularity in the country.

“The popularity of Kim Jae Joong in Japan is really unimaginably great,” the official said, and hinted that Dr. Jin may start airing through main broadcasts in Japan.
