130808 How Did "Master's Sun," "Two Weeks," and "The Blade and Petal" Fare in Ratings?
SBS’ new drama “Master’s Sun” placed first among its Wednesday-Thursday drama competition, off to a high start.
Its premiere episode, which aired August 7 KST, pulled in a 13.6% viewership nation-wide, according to Nielsen Korea. It took over the time slot from the ratings-hit “I Hear Your Voice,” which recorded 23.1% for its final episode. ”Master’s Sun” beat out its competition “Two Weeks” and “The Blade and Petal,” which recorded 7.5% and 6.3%, respectively.
“Master’s Sun” stars Gong Hyo Jin and So Ji Sub in the rom-com/horror drama about a woman who can see ghosts. It is penned by the Hong Sisters, who previously wrote the hits “Greatest Love” and “My Girlfriend is a Gumiho.” Check out Soompi’s live recap here.
“Two Weeks” premiered along with “Master’s Sun” on August 7, and stars Lee Jun Ki, Kim So Yeon, and Park Ha Sun in a dramatic story about a man, falsely accused of murder, in a race to save his daughter’s life.
“The Blade and Petal” is visually stunning drama that focuses on the political struggle and star-crossed relatinoship between the son of General Yeon Gaesomun and the daughter of the former Goguryeo king Yeongnyu. It stars Uhm Tae Woong,Kim Ok Bin, and Choi Min Soo. It aired episode 11 yesterday.
