The Gu Wol Ryong that appeared in the first episodes of Gu Family Book returned to the drama as a completely different character, sparking more fires in the hearts of viewers who had been waiting for a reappearance of the role.
On the May 20 broadcast of Gu Family Book, Gu Wol Ryong awoke from his deep sleep in the woods as an evil spirit, and came down upon ordinary humans to hurt them. He was no longer the just protector of Jirisan everyone knew him as; he had become an evil spirit twisted by the betrayal of his lover Yoon Seo Hwa (Lee Yeon Hee).
The way he smiled coldly even at his only human friend hinted of the turns in the story to come.
Viewers especially showed great joy at Choi Jin Hyuk′s reappearance.
